School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT)
Location: Chattanooga, TN
The Occupational Therapist will work in a school setting, providing therapy services to children with disabilities and developmental disorders.

Key Responsibilities
- Conducting evaluations and assessments of children with disabilities, identifying their unique needs and developing appropriate treatment plans.
- Developing personalized treatment plans to address the physical, sensory, and cognitive challenges that children face in their daily lives.
- Providing individual and group therapy sessions, guiding children through exercises and activities that enhance their coordination, motor skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other school staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that accommodates the diverse needs of each child.
- Incorporating assistive technology and adaptive equipment into treatment plans as needed, ensuring that children have the tools and resources they need to succeed.
- Tracking and documenting the progress of each child, assessing their progress towards achieving treatment goals and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Participating in team meetings and professional development activities, staying up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in the field of occupational therapy.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, the Occupational Therapist will need to have strong communication skills, be able to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, and have a deep understanding of the developmental needs of children with disabilities.
The position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, with licensure and/or certification required in the state of practice. Additional experience working in a school setting is highly desirable.
